Karachi’s Accountability Court postponed the hearing of a reference against former Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani regarding assets beyond known income sources. Due to the absence of the assigned judge, the case was heard in a link court, which adjourned proceedings until February 13 without any action. Agha Siraj Durrani and others have filed an application challenging the jurisdiction of the accountability court. Speaking to the media, Durrani stated, “The original judge has retired, and no decision was made on our application.

The new judge will take the matter forward.” Referring to the long-standing cases against him, he said, “For thirty years, we’ve faced a media trial. Each time, we’ve been acquitted honorably.

We always stand before the courts and believe the era of politically motivated cases must end. The PPP faces such challenges because of its resistance, but we’ve been taught to confront them with courage.” Durrani added that the judicial process reveals the truth and lies over time. Touching on national issues, he emphasized the need for federal consultation with allies and said, “Asif Zardari empowered the Parliament, and we oppose any new canals from the Indus River.

Any injustice to Sindh will bring every Sindhi to the streets.” He reiterated the party’s commitment to upholding the Constitution and ensuring equal rights for all students residing in the province.
