Hand grenade attack kills 2 in Nangarhar

Two children were killed, and three others were wounded when unidentified individuals tossed grenades into a house in the eastern province of Nangarhar, Afghanistan, officials said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred late on Monday night in the Shiekh Mursi community of Surkhrod district when two unidentified men threw two grenades into a house, killing two children and injuring three others, including a woman, according to provincial police spokesperson Abdul Basir Zabuli.

The injured people were taken to the local hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, officials said that further investigations had been started into the incident.

Nine people were killed, and five others were injured after two families clashed in Nangarhar province.

The clash occurred in the Khogyani district of the province.

The motive behind such violence is reported mainly due to personal enmity, which has become common in some parts of the country. —PR
