Governor Sindh Imran Ismail inaugurated the CLEFT Lip and Palate Operation Theater on modern lines on the occasion of his visit to Mustafa Medical Center in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
On this occasion, the Governor of Sindh congratulated Dr. Muhammad Haji Hanif Tayyab, Patron and Chairman of Mustafa Welfare Society and Mr. Ibrahim Katarji, Coordinator of Tika Pakistan and said that he was very happy to know that with the help of Tika.
The scope of free surgery for children affected by lip and palate is being further expanded. He added that every child has the right to speak and smile, children with cleft lip and palate not only suffer from various physical problems but ironically, they also face inappropriate social attitudes. The services of Mustafa Welfare Society and Prof. Muhammad Ashraf Ganatra in this regard are commendable.
The Governor said that the officials of Tika have renewed the pledge of Pak-Turkish friendship that our elders had made with each other. This friendship is not limited to diplomatic relations but the roots of this friendship. They are present in the heart of every Turk and Pakistani.
“I will talk to the federal government about the location of the heart hospital and try to get as much help as possible for the welfare trust,” the Sindh governor said.
The Governor of Sindh on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan also expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Government of the brotherly Islamic country of Turkey and to Pakistan.
Haji Hanif Tayyab, Patron and Chairman of Mustafa Welfare Society said that so far about 60,000 free operations have been performed on children with cleft lip and palate and the establishment of modern operating theater will ensure large scale free operations. Tika has also upgraded the operating theater and has sponsored the acquisition of auditorium furniture and computer laboratory at the Welfare Society-run Girls’ College.
