The first AI/EV International Expo 2023 Pakistan was organized by the Integrated Engineering Center of Excellence (IECE) at the University of Lahore, in which Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman parti-cipated as a special guest.

Chief guest Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman while speaking said that Pakistan’s economy was ranked 24th in 2018 which has moved to 47th in 2022. 23 countries have moved above us and all this happened because of bad governance. Between 2013 and 2018, the country’s economy was excellent and the stock exchange was making new records, but later the country’s economy was put in reverse gear. The previous government also reduced the funding of universities by fifty percent. was at number 40 and later reached number 139. We are cur-rently the only country in the world where more than 2 crore children are out of school. We paid special attention to missing facilities in our previous tenure.
Talking about this, he said that we have come to the first place in the world due to smog. Lives are at stake due to smog. We need to take ex-traordinary measures. We need to take measures to reduce vehicle emis-sions and crop residue burning. We should encourage the promotion of electric vehicles, rickshaws and bikes. The government itself is seriously considering this policy and there is a plan to promote electric bikes in the future under which electric bikes will be distributed in various sectors. Caretaker provincial health minister Dr. Jamal Nasir while addressing said that the government has started promoting electric bikes to control smog. We will give electric bikes to the employees in various sectors and have started providing loans in easy installments to the young generation.
