Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori declared an end to the narrative of hatred, emphasizing national unity and solidarity with Pakistan’s armed forces, martyrs, and veterans during a poignant Defense Day ceremony at the Governor’s House on Friday. Governor Tessori highlighted the unity of the nation under the green and white flag, asserting that “the entire nation stands united under the green and white flag.”

The ceremony featured a unique stage setup and honored the families of martyrs with VIP status. The families were warmly welcomed on the red carpet and saluted by the Navy’s band, with attendees standing in their honor. Governor Tessori remarked that September 6th serves as a reminder of the nation’s unwavering resolve to defend its sovereignty.

He paid tribute to the martyrs of the homeland and declared that “today, we have buried the narrative of hatred.” He emphasized the immense sacrifices made for the creation of Pakistan, noting that mothers sacrificed their sons for the protection of the nation.

“We cannot repay the debt of our martyrs,” he added. The Governor praised the efforts of the armed forces, stating that soldiers are stationed on the borders to safeguard the nation. He expressed pride in the country’s leadership, highlighting the unique position of Pakistan’s army chief, who is both a scholar and a military leader.

Tessori also noted the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) by the Prime Minister and the army chief, which has sparked increased foreign investment interest in Pakistan. The ceremony was a significant tribute to martyrs across the country. Tessori expressed regret over the desecration of martyrs’ memorials on May 9, calling it a deeply saddening event.
