Punjab Finance Minister inaugurates two-day Agri Expo 2022

Pakistan Agri Expo 2022 will prove to be an important platform for increasing agricultural exports. These views were expressed by Finance Minister, Punjab Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari while talking to media on the occasion of inauguration of two-day agricultural exhibition “Pakistan Agri Expo 2022” at Expo Center on Saturday.

Finance Minister on the occasion said that the Present Government is taking all possible steps for the development of agriculture. In spite of financial difficulties, Government of Punjab has allocated Rs. 53.19 billion for agricultural development and prosperity of farmers in the budget of FY 2022-23, out of which a significant amount of Rs. 3.65 billion has been allocated for increasing the production of agricultural commodities.

He further said that Government is taking continuous steps to increase the agricultural exports. Pakistan Agri Expo 2022 will be very beneficial for the importers, exporters and other stakeholders. On the occasion, Secretary Agriculture Punjab Captain (Retd) Asadullah Khan said that Agriculture Department Punjab has organized this exhibition to promote Pakistani agricultural products and increase exports in which 150 stalls have been set up by local and foreign companies while from 12 different countries about 70 foreign delegations along with 2,000 farmers are participating in this exhibition.

This exhibition will increase the demand for Pakistani agricultural products in the global markets which will increase our exports and hence, strengthen the National economy. He further said that prior to this exhibition the Department has organized seven such exhibitions in which from 15 different countries 100 delegations participated and through these exhibitions Pakistan’s exports increased by $10.2 million.
