Islamabad: The meteoric rise in the price of gold in Pakistan continues as the per tola rate rose to a new all-time high on Thursday.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold rose by Rs500 per tola, settling at an all-time high of Rs171,400. Similarly, the price of gold on a ten-gram basis also rose by Rs429 to settle at Rs146,948.
The winning streak of gold continued for the eighth consecutive session as the price jumped by Rs7,940 during the time.
Meanwhile, silver prices remained unchanged at an all-time high of Rs1,990 and Rs1,706.10.
The association mentioned that although gold hit an all-time high in Pakistan, its price still stood below cost. Gold is cheaper by Rs3,000 per tola compared to its price in Dubai.
