Sindh Local Government Minister SaeedGhani emphasized that August 14 is not merely a day of celebration but also an opportunity to reaffirm the commitment to achieving Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision for Pakistan. Speaking at a flag hoisting ceremony at the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) head office, Ghani, alongside KDA Director-General Syed ShujaatHussain, led the event marking Pakistan’s Independence Day. Ghani expressed concern that despite 77 years of independence, Pakistan has yet to fully realize Jinnah’s vision. He highlighted the recent success of athlete ArshadNadeem at the Paris Olympics as a source of national pride and optimism. Ghani commended Nadeem for his perseverance and dedication, which led him to overcome significant challenges and achieve historic victory.
He underscored the importance of promoting and nurturing the country’s athletic and sporting talent. The Minister paid tribute to the sacrifices made by martyrs who defended the nation, reflecting on the ongoing challenges in achieving the ideals set by the founder of Pakistan. Ghani noted that Jinnah envisioned a homeland where people could live free from ethnic and linguistic biases.
He lamented the divisions within the country and stressed the need for unity to fulfill Jinnah’s aspirations. Ghani urged all citizens to work collectively towards a prosperous, progressive, and developed Pakistan, aligning with Quaid-e-Azam’s dream. He emphasized that personal interests must be set aside to ensure the nation’s progress and development.
