Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani emphasized the importance of punctuality and regularity among top officials of the Local Government Department and its subsidiary agencies. Ghani reiterated these expectations during an introductory meeting with department officials, urging them to prioritize public service and ensure maximum facilitation for citizens across Sindh.
Expressing concern over the current public perception of the Sindh government, Ghani emphasized the need to improve the government’s image through diligent service delivery. Moving forward, Ghani announced plans for separate sessions to receive briefings from each civic body, stressing the adoption of punctuality and regularity as essential habits for all staff members. To streamline attendance monitoring, Ghani directed the implementation of a biometric-based system within one month, underscoring the importance of accountability. Furthermore, Ghani instructed local government councils to compile monthly progress reports, emphasizing transparency and accountability in governance. Addressing staffing shortages, Ghani urged immediate recruitment to fill vacancies in municipal agencies, ensuring swift action to bolster operational efficiency.
The meeting also featured briefings from key officials including Additional Chief Secretary Syed Khalid Hyder Shah and directors of various development authorities, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and governance.
