Ambassador of Germany, Alfred Grannas has reiterated the paramount importance of humanitarian service saying the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) was playing a pivotal role in alleviating the suffering of the vulnerable communities.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Chairman of the PRCS SardarShahid Ahmed Laghari at the PRCS National Headquarters here Thursday.
The ambassador underscored a shared commitment to advancing humanitarian endeavors in Pakistan through collaborative efforts.
He also emphasized the enduring partnership between the PRCS and the German Red Cross adding their partnership spanned over four decades.
The meeting delved into various subjects including bilateral relations and the imperative of enhancing cooperation for the betterment of humanity.
SardarShahidLaghari briefed the visiting ambassador about the PRCS working and various projects. He also provided insights into the PRCS’ initiatives, particularly its endeavors in rehabilitation and reconstruction following recent floods in Pakistan.
He highlighted ongoing collaborative projects with the German Red Cross, such as Anticipatory Actions for Humanitarian Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and the Climate Advocacy and Coordination for Resilient Action (CACRA) project for Disaster Risk Management (DRM).
ShahidLaghari lauded Ambassador Grannas’ concern for the people of Pakistan and his dedication to addressing humanitarian needs. He emphasized the significance of the Ambassador’s visit in strengthening ties between Pakistan and Germany and expanding avenues of cooperation for the benefit of vulnerable communities.
