Pakistan must expand its export basket by exploring market of non-traditional items; this was stated by Sheikh Sultan Rehman, Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a webinar on “Promotion of Exports of Non Traditional Items” organized by FPCCI Head Office Karachi, Regional Office Lahore and Capital Office Islamabad via Zoom Video Conference.
The Webinar was attended by Zubair Baweja, Vice President FPCCI, Mr. Riaz Sheikh, Acting Secretary TDAP, Mr. Zakaria Usman Former President FPCCI, Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Former Vice President FPCCI, Ms Qaisra Sheikh Coordinator Women Entrepreneurs, Ms Mehreen Ilahi President Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry District East Karachi and Executive Committee and General Body Members of FPCCI.
While welcoming the participants, Sheikh Sultan Rehman, Vice President FPCCI stated that Pakistan’s exports are stagnant between US$ 20 billion to US$ 25 billion since many years. He added that Pakistan has limited its exports to few items i.e. textile, carpet, sports, leather.
