Four Kashmiri students were harassed by locals and later detained by the police in Noida city of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Jammu Kashmir Students’ Association in a statement said that the students from the Law De-partment of AMITY University in Noida were detained after they approached the police on being roughed up by locals outside hostel.
“Rather than questioning and apprehending the accused responsible for the harassment, the police detained four boys who were subjected to physical aggression,” it said.
The students’ families had approached the association appealing for their immediate release, the association said.—KMS
