Five including 3 Kashmir-origin Americans killed in road accident in US

At least five people, including 03 Kashmir-origin American nationals, belonging to Mirpur, Azad Jammu Kashmir, were killed in a road accident after two over-speeding cars collided head near the Broome County Line in the Town of Richford in New York on Sunday, says a message reaching and disseminated to the media here on Monday.
The ll-fated youth, belonging to Mirpur city, were identified as Chaudhry Sikander, son of Sufi Muhammad Nazir, ex President of Kashmir Press Club Mirpur, Nasir Mahmood, (Sufi’s son-in-law) and another family member Iftikhar, the message said. Two others, travelling in the car coming from opposite direction and died in the accident could not be immediately be identified. All the casualties occurred on the spot, the message said.
Elaborating, the message continued that the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation revealed that after a two-car head-on collision, five total people were pronounced dead on Sunday.
The sheriff’s office says they responded to a report of a two-car collision on State Route 79 near the Broome County Line in the Town of Richford.
They say the investigation revealed that a vehicle occupied by five people was traveling eastbound on State Route 79 and passed a vehicle also traveling eastbound. While traveling eastbound in the westbound lane, the car hit another vehicle traveling westbound with two passengers.
Officials say of the five individuals in the car traveling eastbound three were pronounced dead at the scene.
They say one of the other passengers was transported to Wilson Hospital and is in critical condition. The other passenger was flown by Guthrie Air to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where they are in stable condition.
Officials say the two individuals in the vehicle traveling westbound were pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office at (607) 687-1010.
The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Department of Transportation, Richford Fire Department, Maine Emergency Squad, Lisle Fire Department and Guthrie Air.
The message said quoting the emergency crews, four people have died following a crash on Sunday.
The crash happened on Route 79 between Richford and Lisle, 511 NY originally stating it was a crash with injuries. Two medical helicopters were called in for the crash.
They say the crash blocked off traffic for hours.
The cause of the crash is under investigation as well as how many people were involved, the message concluded.
