PESHAWAR – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar on Saturday, where he was briefed in detail on the current security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region.
During the visit, the top general attended funeral prayers of the martyrs of the recent terrorist incident at Bannu Garrison and visited the injured personnel receiving treatment at CMH Bannu. He paid glowing tribute to the fallen soldiers and lauded the unmatched courage and resilience of Pakistan’s armed forces in their continued fight against terrorism.
He strongly condemned Indian-sponsored terrorist group, Fitna al-Khawarij, and praised the security forces for neutralizing such threats with exemplary bravery. He reaffirmed the nation’s united resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, declaring that the menace will be rooted out completely from Pakistani soil.
“The blood of every innocent Pakistani will be avenged,” the COAS vowed, adding that any attempt to destabilize the country will be met with swift and decisive retribution. He further stated that all perpetrators, abettors, and facilitators of terrorism will be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice, without exception.
He also emphasized the importance of enhancing the capabilities of civilian law enforcement agencies, particularly the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. The Army Chief urged relevant government institutions to prioritize institutional development and reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to assisting in this effort.
Upon arrival at the Corps Headquarters, the Chief of Army Staff was received by Corps Commander Peshawar.
The visit underscores the military leadership’s unwavering determination to maintain national security and support civilian institutions in the broader fight against terrorism.
