The chief of the Pakistan’s top tax body has given the government a two-week notice for his resignation from the position.

Amjad Zubair, an officer of the Inland Revenue Service of Grade 21, was scheduled to retire on February 25 of the next year. However, he has sent a written notice to the government indicating his desire to step down from his position and take early retirement.

In his notice, the Chairman expressed his intention to leave his office and take retirement early.

Reports said Amjad Zubair Tiwana had also verbally informed Minister of State Ahsan Cheema during a meeting about his decision.
