Prof Fateh Muhammad Malik, in his presidential address paid rich tributes to Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and AltafHussainHali who first recognized the Muslims of India as a separate nation. Their vision was carried forward by AllamaIqbal who finally gave the Idea of Pakistan which was implemented by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Under Jinnah’s leadership, the Muslims of India carried out an epic struggle and carved out a separate state where they could live according to their faith and values.
This is something unprecedented in the history of the world, said Prof Fateh emphasizing the importance of adopting a policy of self-reliance.
