The United States has launched another round of military strikes against targets linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to US Central Command (Centcom).
According to media reports, Centcom said the latest strikes came after what it described as recent attempted attacks by the IRGC on commercial vessels operating in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as US military personnel stationed in the region.
Meanwhile, Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB reported a series of explosions near Bandar Abbas in southern Iran. More than five blasts were reportedly heard around Masan village on Qeshm Island, while four additional explosions were heard in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz.
A deputy official responsible for political, security and social affairs in Hormozgan province said there had been no reports of casualties or other incidents so far.
