LONDON – England Cricket named 17-player squad for upcoming three-match Test series against Pakistan, scheduled for October 2024 with some new faced part of Three Lions.

Among squad members are Durham’s Brydon Carse and Essex’s Jordan Cox which are the only players without previous Test experience, marking an exciting milestone in their careers. Spinners Rehan Ahmed and Jack Leach return to the Test squad, expected to play crucial roles on Pakistan’s spin-friendly pitches. Eight players from this squad—Rehan Ahmed, Harry Brook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jack Leach, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes—were part of the team that achieved a historic 3-0 Test series win in Pakistan in 2022.

Brydon Carse and Jordan Cox, both making their Test debuts, will be looking to contribute. Jack Leach returns for the first time since the opening Test against India in January 2024, while Rehan Ahmed, who debuted during England’s previous tour of Pakistan, aims to build on his four Test caps.

Josh Hull, left-arm fast medium bowler, has been picked for his first senior tour with England. Kent opener Zak Crawley also returns after missing the West Indies series due to a finger injury sustained in July.

England’s captain, Ben Stokes, is included in the squad as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the recent Test series against Sri Lanka.
