The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan hosted a grand reception to commemorate Qatar National Day. The event was graced by the presence of H.E. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, as the Guest of Honor. Other distinguished attendees included H.E. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, H.E. Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Information, Culture, and National Heritage, H.E. Shaza Fatima, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunications, H.E. Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, and H.E. Kamran Khan Tessori, Governor of Sindh Province. Parliamentarians, senior civil and military officials, diplomats, military attachés, and representatives from various sectors also graced the occasion.
The event saw the presence of notable business leaders, intellectuals, media professionals, legal experts, religious leaders, and prominent members of society. Representatives from political, economic, academic, and sports organizations, along with think tanks and research institutions, further enriched the gathering.
In his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his heartfelt congratulations to the leadership and people of Qatar, commending the strong ties between Pakistan and Qatar. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation in various fields and lauded Qatar’s extraordinary progress under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, describing it as an inspiring model for the Islamic world.
Reflecting on his recent visit to Doha, the Prime Minister highlighted the fruitful discussions held with Qatari leadership and expressed his gratitude to H.H. the Amir and H.E. Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, for hosting the Manzar exhibition, which showcased the evolution of Pakistani art and architecture since the 1940s. He also appreciated Qatar’s support for Pakistan, particularly in facilitating employment opportunities for Pakistani workers in Doha. He expressed hope for an upcoming visit by H.H. the Amir to Pakistan, emphasizing that it would further bolster the strong ties between the two nations.
H.E. Ali bin Mubarak Al-Khater, Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan, conveyed his warmest congratulations to H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir, and the people of Qatar on this joyous occasion.
In his speech, the Ambassador highlighted Qatar’s significant achievements in various sectors, its humanitarian initiatives, and its crucial role in fostering regional and global peace and stability. He reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to expanding and enhancing collaboration with Pakistan, emphasizing the recent positive developments in bilateral relations, particularly in education, humanitarian aid, and post-disaster recovery efforts.
Adding a special element to the event, Qatar Charity hosted an interactive stall, showcasing their impactful initiatives and humanitarian projects in Pakistan and worldwide. Guests were able to learn about Qatar Charity’s contributions to education, healthcare, and disaster relief efforts in Pakistan.
As part of the festivities, Qatar Airways conducted an exciting lucky draw, offering complimentary travel tickets to selected winners, which added to the celebratory spirit of the evening. The event also featured visual presentations highlighting Qatar’s impressive development journey and its rich art, cultural heritage, and traditions.
