Sindh is taking comprehensive measures to address the issue of out-of-school children in the province, aiming to ensure every child’s access to education. Spokesperson Sukhdev Assardas Hemnani highlighted Sindh’s commitment to implementing Articles 25A and 37B of the Constitution by introducing the “Sindh Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2013.”

Under this act, free education is provided to children up to 16 years of age in public schools, along with free textbooks, stationery, school bags, and uniforms. Hemnani acknowledged the high number of out-of-school children in the country and shared that Sindh has launched multiple programs to meet this challenge.

Recognizing that formal schooling alone is insufficient, the Sindh Government has adopted non-formal education initiatives. As part of this strategy, 3,000 non-formal education centers are being established across the province—100 centers in each district.
