Observer Report

Former Federal Minister and ex-Secretary General of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Dr Ghulam Hussain expressed his heartfelt sorrow and grief over demise of Jhelum’s senior politician Raja Muhammad Afzal who died of cardiac arrest on Sunday.
In a message of condolence, PPP founding member Dr Ghulam Hussain paid rich tributes to Raja Muhammad Afzal for his services to the people of Jhelum, his political vision and uprightness.
“Raja Muhammad Afzal was a man of principles and believed in selfless service to the people who reposed confidence in him by electing him several times to the Parliament,” said the veteran politician in his message.
Raja Muhammad Afzal enjoyed long association with the Sharif family and the PML-N but later developed differences in late 2012. As a result, he along with his two sons quit the party and joined the PPP in January 2013.
However, this association didn’t last long as he expressed his confidence in the leadership of Imran Khan and joined the PTI in early 2013. He also served as Member of the Senate of Pakistan.
Dr Ghulam Hussain prayed to Almighty Allah for eternal peace and blessing of the departed soul and offered his condolences to the bereaved family of Raja Muhammad Afzal.
