Requesting the government to call up army, the Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Altaf Shakoor here on Friday demanded of the federal and provincial governments to recruit all able-bodied jobless citizens, especially youths, as national volunteers to tackle the gigantic challenge of Corona virus.
He said this is a national emergency and our response should be matching and befitting. He said without the help of army, it is very difficult to meet this challenge.
Giving examples of China, Malaysia and France, he said calling up army has proved to be the most effective decision for these nations in facing this challenge.
Altaf Shakoor asked the government to recruit all jobless youth as national volunteers and mobilize them in whole country after giving them basic training.
He said these millions of volunteers should not be paid any salary but just a reasonable stipend or honorarium.
He said with the presence of these volunteers in every street of the country, and with the active help and assistance of our armed forces we would Insha-Allah soon manage to tackle this challenge.
He requested the apex courts to take suo moto notice of the situation and order the government to recruit all jobless youth as national volunteers.
