In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a building of Darul-ul-Uloom (Islamic seminary) was damaged, today, in a fire incident in north Kashmir’s district.

Officials said that the fire erupted in residential quarters of Darul-ul-Uloom ‘Khair-ud-Darsain’, around 7 am this (Saturday) morning and engulfed the building. They said although the fire was doused off within a reasonable dispatch but it damaged the building to a large extent. The fire caused damage to books and literature kept in the building even as there was no loss of life or injury reported, they added. A police officer said that fire controlling meas-ures were taken up immediately after receiving in-formation about the fire. He said that the cause of fire is being investigated even as preliminary investiga-tions suggest it to be due to short circuit.—KMS
