Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqar released a dove – the symbol of peace, love and hope – to inaugurate `Jawidan’ Art Exhibition at the Pakistan National Council of Art. The work of leading sculptors and painters, including Hasan Baqer son of caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice Maqbool Baqar was exhibited which reflected Indus Civilisation and Gandhara art.
The emerging sculptor Hasan Baqer exhibited the sculpture of Budha. He told the CM that the sculpture of Budha signified enlightenment, the path to enlightenment, serenity, detachment, concentration, wisdom and benevolence. In the exhibition, Sidhartha was sitting and the earthen lamps were lit around him. Siddhartha Gautama is referred to as the Budha.
In the art exhibition seals, pottery, terracotta figures and other forms made by emerging artists were also put on exhibition. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that our art, culture and civilization were rich in the world. He added that we must organise such an exhibition so that the message of love, co-existence, plural society, science and technology could be disseminated in the world.
