Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has welcomed the recent ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, calling it “a victory for peace” and a moment of hope for those seeking long-term regional stability.
Speaking from Karachi on Friday, Shah said the agreement had generated a wave of support across Pakistan and could serve as a foundation for renewed diplomatic engagement.
“This ceasefire represents a meaningful move toward de-escalation and creates space for both countries to choose dialogue over confrontation,” Shah remarked.
He called on India to resolve all outstanding issues—including Kashmir—through sustained negotiations and peaceful means.
Shah praised the Pakistan Armed Forces, particularly the Air Force, for safeguarding the nation’s borders, and credited the country’s civilian leadership for their role in reaching this accord.
He extended congratulations to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for what he described as “decisive and timely leadership.
” Acknowledging the behind-the-scenes diplomacy that helped pave the way for the agreement, Shah thanked international partners—especially the United States—for their support.
He also commended PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for persistently advocating for peace and representing Pakistan’s position on global platforms.
