All commercial bank branches will remain open until 10:00 pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, to facilitate taxpayers in making over-the-counter payments of government duties and taxes.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the decision was taken at the request of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to ensure taxpayers can complete their government-related payments before the deadline.
Banks have also been directed to keep relevant branches operational for as long as necessary on September 30 to facilitate the Special Clearing arrangements for government transactions processed through the National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT).
In addition, banks have been advised to ensure uninterrupted access to digital payment services, including internet banking, mobile applications, ATMs and other online channels, enabling taxpayers to pay government duties and taxes electronically.
