Capital Development Authority (CDA) in collaboration with the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Monday hurried to disinfect certain parts of the federal capital after several coronavirus cases were reported in Sectors F-10, G-6, PWD colony and localities adjacent to Pakistan Institute of medical Sciences (Pims).
The residents of the federal capital have listened to the news of coronavirus spreading fast in the city with awe and concern as their earlier belief that capital is free of Covid-19 turns out to be merely a wishful thinking.
The number of coronavirus in Islamabad jumps to an all time high 181 registering an increase of ten cases in last 24 hours.
According to the spokesperson of the authority, two cases of coronavirus were reported in the posh residential tower in the Sector F-10, Al-Mustafa Tower and the authorities sprang to action not only to cordon off the tower but also to disinfect.
Similarly, parts of the PWD colony, Sector and Pims Colony were sealed after virus was detected in the employees living in Pims colony and residents of the PWD colony.
Meanwhile, Sector G-6/2 was also disinfected and a house there was sealed after detection of seven cases of coronavirus.
During the last couple of days, Islamabad district administration was busy with making arrangements for a special flight that brought stranded Pakistanis from abroad. All the passengers on board the flight needed to be quarantined and shifted to local hotels designated as quarantine centres.
Meanwhile, all those suspected patients of coronavirus who had been kept at the quarantine centre in the Haji camp in Islamabad were sent home after they completed their isolation period.
The camp was vacated of all the suspected patients of Covid-19 after they were tested negative, said an official of the district administration adding the Haji camp was also disinfected on the orders of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
