A bomb explosion was reported near Election Commission’s Office in Karachi on Friday. Police or rescue officials have not confirmed any casualties or injuries.
Local police, rescue officials, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) rushed to the scene, and are looking into the situation. As the terror incident caused fear among residents of port city, police revealed that the explosives were placed inside a bag left on roadside.
SSP South Sajid Saduzai told media that the explosives were made using raw materials and there was no major destruction caused by the explosion. Police linked the blast with conspiracy aimed at causing fear and chaos among Karachi residents.
The recent explosion followed a series of blasts across Pakistan as the country is reeling from a fresh wave of terrorism ahead of next elections.
