Bike lifter gang busted, 16 motorcycles recovered

Islamabad Sabzi Mandi Police busted three members of a bike lifter gang and recovered 16 stolen motorbikes from their possession.
According to details, keeping in view surge in bike lifting incidents, on directives Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan to launch crackdown against bike lifters, SP (Industrial-Area) Zubair Ahmed Shaikh constituted a special team under supervision of DSP Ghulam Muhammad Baqir including SHO Sabzi Mandi Sub-Inspector Imran Haider, ASI Muhammad Ramzan along with other officials.
The special team after hectic efforts successfully nabbed three members of a well organized bike lifter gang including Mahajar Khan, Muhammad Hamid and Muhammad Sami.
The police recovered 16 stolen motorbikes from possession of the detainees who during the preliminary investigation confessed their involvement in dozens of bike lifting incidents in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Appreciating the performance of police team, DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed has directed all police officials to ensure effective policing measures in their respective areas.
