In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference (NC) has said that the policies of the authorities have multiplied the miseries of the people.

The NC leader Rattan Lal Gupta, interacting with party leaders in Jammu, deplored that there was a lot of hue and cry across the territory as people were suffering on account of the much ill conceived policies of the authorities.

He said the dispensation, functioning as the proxy government of Bharatiya Janata Party, has been functioning arbitrarily displaying an unprecedented degree of arrogance. He said this is evident from the decision of imposing property tax that has left the Mayors of Jammu and Srinagar and the elected members of Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipal Committees speechless as they have not been consulted while implementing property tax in territory, terming it as undemocratic and against the norms of natural justice.—KMS
