The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a seminar in Islamabad in connection with the Accession to Pakistan Day, today.
The day is being observed by the Kashmiri people in renewal of the historic resolution of Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan passed by the people of Jammu and Kashmir through their representative organization, All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference on this day in 1947 in Srinagar, demanding accession of the territory to Pakistan.
APHC-AJK Convener Mehmood Ahmad Saghar presided over the seminar while former Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami AJK, Abdul Rashid Turabi, was chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the seminar, the speakers described the resolution passed on July 19, 1947, as the Kashmiris’ destination and pledged to continue the peaceful struggle to achieve this objective.
They said that the people of Kashmir were engaged in a just struggle of securing their right to self-determination.
They said that India had forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the will of the Kashmiri people but one day it would have to vacate the territory because the use of brute force couldn’t weaken the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment.
The speakers and participants included Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Sanaullah Dar, Shaikh Abdul Mateen, Hassan Bana, Advocate Parvaiz Ahmed, Engineer Mushtaq Mehmood, Raja Khadim Hussain, Nisar Mirza, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt.
