A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on Wednesday between the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTCC), and National University of Modern Languages (NUML) to introduce foreign language training in schools of Islamabad.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Federal Minister for Education, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Rector NUML, Major General (R)Shahid MahmoodKayani and Federal Secretary Ministry of Education Mohyuddin Wani.
The programme will be introduced in a selected number of schools both for boys and girls.
Under the agreement, six-month foreign language courses would be offered to the students and upon completion, certificates will be grantedSpeaking on the occasion, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said the programme was being introduced to equip students with foreign language skills and to enhance their global prospects and to foster cultural understanding. This initiative marks a significant milestone in our efforts to modernize education and empower our youth, he said.
FDE, NAVTCC, and NUML are committed to working together to make this initiative a success, benefiting the students and community, said an official of the Ministry of Education.
