Haqqani said that the current Jihad in the country is to implement Sharia law and pay for the reconstruction of the country.
Acting Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani stressed the need for the implementation of Sharia as well as for unity in the nation.
Speaking to a gathering of religious clerics, tribal elders and local officials in Laghman, Haqqani said that the academics who stayed in Afghanistan should be encouraged and provided with work and support.
“Today, we unite our nation in this unity. The people who have stayed here, we must know them as our brothers, they are the people of our nation, they have stayed here, we must encourage them, and we must use our experts and provide them with work and service,” he said.
Haqqani said that the current Jihad in the country is to implement Sharia law and pay for the reconstruction of the country.
“We perform Jihad today by implementing Sharia and ensuring the government endures, and by reconstructing the country,” he said.
“We shall maintain our government. We should embrace the people and make them ours. The nation should be provided with love because this nation helped the achievement of the current government,” said Mohammad Haleem Haqqani, an official of the Jihadi seminary, who also attended the gathering.
Zalmai Afghanyar, a political analyst, said: “The ministers of the interior and defense are responsible for assuring the people about the security and borders of Afghanistan. They should motivate the Islamic Emirate’s forces on the borders. Also, the recent activities of Pakistan and Iran have caused security concerns. These are some of the purposes of this visit,” said Zalmai Afghanyar, political analyst.
