LAHORE – Frustration among students and parents across Pakistan, as A Level Pure Mathematics paper was reportedly leaked hours before it was due to be conducted, raising serious questions about exam security and fairness.
A Level Mathematics Paper 1 (Variant 12) allegedly appeared on social media well before candidates entered examination halls, effectively exposing the paper in advance and disrupting preparations for thousands of students nationwide.
A-Level Math Paper Leak
The leak is said to have been traced back to local student who allegedly shared the paper through a Reddit account under the username “Strict_Paper_6341.” While these claims are being widely discussed online, they remain under scrutiny as authorities have yet to release an official confirmation.
The incident triggered intense backlash, particularly among families who invested heavily in preparation and registration fees. Many students argue that months of preparation and substantial financial costs were undermined in a matter of hours.
Criticism has also been directed at the British Council, with accusations that exam security measures were insufficient despite high examination fees charged to candidates. Reports suggest that approximately 25,000 students in Pakistan paid around PKR 50,000 each to sit for the exam.
What has further intensified public anger is the claim that this is not an isolated incident, with similar paper leak controversies reportedly occurring in previous years as well. This pattern has fueled growing doubts about the reliability and integrity of the examination system.
As the situation unfolds, students and parents are demanding accountability and urgent reforms to prevent future breaches that compromise the fairness of high-stakes international examinations.
