Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has strongly commended Palestinians for their resilience during 470 days of resistance against Israel’s ongoing aggression in Gaza. Speaking to a massive gathering in Karachi at Shahrah-e-Quaideen on Monday to celebrate the Gaza peace deal, Rehman asserted that the Israeli actions in Gaza had exposed the hypocrisy of both Western democracies and Muslim leaderships across the globe.
Rehman, addressing thousands of Karachi residents, expressed dismay over the silence of Muslim countries, which he claimed tacitly supported Israel’s atrocities. He criticized the United States for sponsoring Israeli genocide in Gaza and pointed to its broader history of intervention, from the destruction of Afghanistan and Iraq to its role in fostering dictatorship in Egypt and elsewhere in the Muslim world.
“The genocide in Gaza laid bare the true nature of Western powers,” Rehman remarked. “It was the United States that stood behind Israel’s brutal campaign, just as it was responsible for wars that have devastated entire nations.” Rehman underscored the pivotal role of Hamas and other Palestinian fighters in defeating Israeli forces, particularly noting the symbolic and military defeat of Israel in Gaza. “Technology, missiles, and the infamous Iron Dome were obliterated by the steadfastness and courage of Gaza’s freedom fighters,” he said.
The JI leader also warned that international efforts would intensify to normalize relations between Israel and Muslim-majority nations, especially Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Pakistan, following Israel’s defeat. He cautioned Pakistani leaders against any soft stance toward Israel, warning of significant public backlash. He further reminded the crowd that prior to October 7, 2023, several Middle Eastern countries, under U.S. influence, had moved toward recognition of Israel, but Hamas’s actions had reversed this momentum.
“Palestinian freedom fighters have shown the world that the survival of a nation is intrinsically tied to its resistance against oppression,” he emphasized. Rehman did not hesitate to criticize Pakistan’s internal leadership, particularly Pervez Musharraf, whose policies he deemed cowardly and detrimental to the nation’s stability. “We will never progress as a nation until we rid ourselves of foreign puppets.”
