Lahore Leads University Campus among 72 premises sealed in Punjab capital

LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 72 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises in different areas of Lahore.

LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 15 premises in Shadman, 23 in Subzazar Housing Scheme, and 34 in Faisal Town, Gulberg, and Garden Town for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialization fees.

The sealed premises include Lahore Leads University’s Shadman Campus, a private school, a pharmacy, a café, bakers, food outlets, grocery stores, a saloon, and other businesses.

LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.

As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of parking bylaws, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulters across Lahore.
