LAHORE – Azerbaijani girl Diana made headlines in Pakistani media after being subjected to sexual assault by three men in Lahore and now personal details of the girl surfaced online as the probe widens.
It began with a trail of wedding photographs and alleged Nikahnama circulating online, pictures that appeared to reveal a hidden chapter in the life of an Azerbaijani woman known publicly only as Diana. Days later, those pictures became part of a much larger mystery. Police in Lahore were investigating her allegations of a sexual assault, while trying to piece together her movements, the people she met and what happened during the night of September 25–26.
With arrests made and new evidence under examination, the case has left investigators trying to separate verified facts from disputed accounts and unconfirmed material. The woman, identified in Pakistani reports only as Diana Bağıyeva, is at the centre of an investigation that has already resulted in arrests, raids and the recovery of a vehicle allegedly linked to the incident.
Photographs circulating online that appear to show her dressed as a bride and an alleged Nikahnama that reportedly records a marriage in Jhelum. The material attracted considerable attention, but its authenticity has not been independently established. The identity of the purported husband, the date of the alleged marriage and the circumstances surrounding it remain unclear.
Who is Diana Bağıyeva?
The girl in Pakistani media reports is Azerbaijani national who travelled to Pakistan several times. Most Pakistani reports do not publicly identify her beyond her first name. An Azerbaijani report has identified her as Diana Bağıyeva of Qusar district, although that identification has not been widely confirmed by Pakistani sources.
Her age has also been reported differently. Early accounts described her as 20, while later reports referring to her Section 164 statement gave her age as 22. An Azerbaijani source reportedly put it at 23. Her full official identity documents and passport details have not been publicly released in mainstream reporting.
Business Trips and Previous Visits
Reports describe Diana as travelling to Pakistan for business, with some accounts linking her activities to the clothing and fabric trade. Police sources cited by the media say she had previously visited Lahore several times.
One reported account places her in Lahore after travelling from Tashkent around March 4. She allegedly stayed until about March 20 with a woman identified as Rida Hameed. Another reported trip allegedly began around May 22 after she travelled from Baku, with a man identified as Rashid Ali reportedly listed as a person with whom she stayed.
These details have emerged through reported police inquiries and have not all been independently verified.
According to reports, Diana arrived in Islamabad from Istanbul on September 13, 2026. She reportedly spent around five days in Faisalabad before travelling to Lahore. Reports have placed her accommodation somewhere around Raiwind Road, Sundar or a nearby private housing society, although the precise location remains disputed.
She had reportedly planned to travel to Skardu but contacted acquaintances because she was travelling alone. Investigators are also examining photographs and videos allegedly showing Diana with people she met in Lahore. One set of photographs reportedly shows her with a woman identified as Muskan at a café in Johar Town.
Other online material, including videos reportedly showing Diana at the Punjab Assembly, has also surfaced and is said to be under review.
Gang-Rape in Lahore
The investigation took a serious turn following allegations concerning the night of September 25–26. A case was registered at Defence C police station under several provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code, including Section 375A, relating to gang rape, along with other provisions reportedly concerning intoxication and physical harm.
Diana was medically examined after the complaint. The medical findings are expected to form part of the evidence considered by investigators.
According to the FIR and Diana’s reported statement before a magistrate under Section 164 CrPC, she had contacted two women, identified in various reports as Nimra/Aini and Muskan, to meet in Lahore.
She reportedly met Muskan at a café at around 11 p.m. She then visited apartment in Bahria Town, a location around Defence/DHA, or a private housing development in the Raiwind-Sundar area. At around 2 a.m., two men identified as Mohsin and Ahmed/Muhammad Ahmed Tanveer reportedly arrived in a white car. Some reports identify the vehicle as a Hyundai Sonata associated with Tanveer.
The group allegedly travelled to an apartment. Two other men reportedly arrived later. Their identities have been inconsistently reported, with one individual variously identified as Ali Zain, Ali Aziz, Ali or Uzair Umar.
Diana reportedly told investigators that between Rs20,000 and Rs30,000 was given to Nimra and/or Muskan. The money was allegedly described as being for a “party.” According to the reported account, Diana refused the money and said she would pay the amount herself if she could leave.
Her statement then alleges that she was prevented from leaving and subjected to threats and pressure.
Diana reportedly alleged that Ali Zain threatened or blackmailed her and that she was pressured to consume alcohol or another intoxicating substance. She said she subsequently became intoxicated after consuming a drink that she believed may have contained a drug or alcohol. According to the reported statement, she was confined to a room and allegedly sexually assaulted by Mohsin, Ahmed and Ali Zain.
These remain allegations contained in the complaint and statement and have not been established by a court.
The account reportedly given to police does not end at the apartment. Diana alleged that she was later placed in a vehicle, with Mohsin allegedly driving and Ahmed and Ali Zain reportedly present.
She also reportedly alleged that she was threatened against contacting police. She was subsequently allegedly left near a roadside location, with reports variously placing the spot around Ghazi Interchange or near the airport. She reportedly sought help from passersby before contacting the police emergency helpline 15.
Who Are the Suspects?
Among the names appearing in media reports are Mohsin / Syed Mohsin Shah, described in one account as a social-media influencer. Ahmed / Muhammad Ahmed Tanveer — identified in some reports as a principal suspect and allegedly connected with the vehicle and apartment. Some reports describe him as the son of a businessman in the pharmaceutical sector.
Ali Zain / Ali Aziz / Ali / Uzair Umar, Nimra/Aini and Muskan are also named in connection with allegations of facilitating or arranging the meeting.
Investigators are reportedly examining CCTV footage, photographs, videos, travel records and other digital evidence.
They are also attempting to establish where Diana stayed after arriving in Lahore, whom she met, the precise café and apartment involved, the movements of the suspects; and the ownership and movements of the vehicle.
