ISLAMABAD – The Inter Board Coordination Committee (IBCC) on Wednesday announced that grace marks in exams have been increased from 3 to 5, informing all educational boards across the country of the decision.

The increase in grace marks was introduced in light of the recent change in passing marks, which were raised from 33 to 40. Under the new policy, candidates scoring 35 marks will now receive 5 grace marks to pass.

The IBCC has assured that paper checkers will be informed about this adjustment.

The sources revealed that there was a proposal to increase the grace marks to 7 but it was not approved.

The grace marks can only be awarded in a maximum of two subjects.

If a student fails in three subjects, no grace marks will be granted in any subject.
