Former Pakistan captain and star batter Babar Azam has celebrated his 30th birthday.
Babar Azam received an outpouring of wishes and accolades from fellow cricketers for his remarkable determination and achievements in the sport.
On this special occasion, many cricketers took to social media to celebrate Babar’s contributions to the game. Players such as Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Aamir Jamal, and Salman Ali Agha expressed their admiration for the former captain.
Babar marks this milestone during the ongoing Test series against England, where he is currently sidelined for the second and third matches. This marks a significant moment in his career, as it is the first instance he has been dropped from the national team since his debut in white-ball cricket against Zimbabwe in 2015 and his Test debut against the West Indies the following year.
He gained prominence in 2016 with three consecutive centuries in an ODI series against the West Indies. In 2021, he succeeded Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli as the world’s number one ODI batsman, a position he has maintained despite a few brief challenges.
Two years ago, Babar was at the peak of his career, leading the Pakistan team while excelling as a top-ranked batsman across all formats. However, his form in Test cricket has seen a decline, leading to a drop outside the top 10 in world rankings, while he remains fourth among T20 batsmen.
