Blast in Mardan leaves three dead, seven injured

A blast on a bridge killed at least three people while seven others were injured in Mardan on Friday.

The blast occurred when an explosive device planted on a bridge was detonated, police said.

It has been learnt that a police mobile was attacked on a bridge in the Takhtbhai Jalala area. A three wheeler vehicle was also caught in the explosion.

Rescue, police and security agencies rushed to site and shifted the injured to hospital while the area was cordoned off. Later, a search operation for the suspects was underway and the explosion was set off via remote control.

Earlier, a security official was martyred, and four others were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near a vehicle carrying security personnel to the Iskalku area of Kalat district.
