LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board decided to appoint separate coaches for Test, One Day, and T20 formats, the sources close to the development said on Friday.
According to sources, negotiations regarding the appointment of foreign coaches have reached the final stages, with former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten and former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie being close to finalizing deals.
It is reported that Gary Kirsten may be assigned as the white-ball coach while Jason Gillespie could be in charge of red-ball cricket coaching, and discussions are underway with both coaches on various matters.
The sources suggested that Jason Gillespie could take on responsibilities during Gary Kirsten’s busy schedule, and discussions were ongoing regarding his commitments with Gary Kirsten for the future.
According to the sources, the discussions are also underway regarding other support staff along with foreign coaches as well as with other national coaches regarding the coaching staff.
