Justified demands of KP to be met on priority basis: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that keeping in view the current financial situation of the country, all justified demands of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province would be fulfilled on priority basis.

The prime minister, welcoming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur who called on him, said that all the four provinces were the components of the federation and when they moved together, the country achieved progress and development.

CM Gandapur briefed the PM on the administrative affairs of the province in detail, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, Minister for Defence Kh Muhammad Asif, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for States and Frontier Regions Amir Muqam and other relevant senior officials.

PM Shehbaz stressed to sit together to resolve all issues, adding the public welfare would be the top priority of their collective efforts.

Ali Amin Gandapur also expressed the resolve that the provincial government wanted to move with good intentions and was committed to play its positive role in the national development.

Both leaders discussed different issues including strong future engagement between the federal government and the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In the meeting, the chief minister also discussed the money the federation owes to the province. There was also a discussion on the ban on meetings with PTI founding chairman Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

The affairs of the province, as well as constitutional and legal issues were also discussed in the meeting.
Both the dignitaries also discussed the appointment of the Chief Secretary of KP. They highlighted the challenges and discussed the possible cooperation and collaboration between the federation and the provincial government.
Talking to the media after meeting with PM along with planning minister Ahsan Iqbal, Gandapur said he had very “positive” talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on public and provincial issues, law and order and other matters.

“It was very positive and he gave full support and reassured,” Gandapur said of the interaction with the premier.

Gandapur stressed on the need to solve public issues together and the need for the federal and provincial governments to deliver.
