RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir vowed to curb propaganda peddled against the state.

A press release issued by ISPR said General Asim Munir pointed out swirling rumors circulating about the Pakistani state online. COAS said there are attempts to create an atmosphere of panic, despair and chaos online and that fake news was being used to promote the impression that the state is in decline.

The top general however warned that all types of mafias would be eliminated in Pakistan.

In his speech to National Farmers Convention, Army Chief said Pakistan’s formation was not fortuitous, rather it was established in name of Almighty. The only states founded in the name of Islam were Pakistan and Madinah, he added.

Gen Asim said farming was profession of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and it involves discipline, growth, and patience. He said the Asian nation has been blessed with immense natural resources and has been progressing rapidly in 1960s. However, it got off track as it forgot Quaid-e-Azam’s message of unity, faith, and discipline.

Praising Green Pakistan Initiative, Army Chief accelerated agricultural growth in the country, and further emphasised that army would ‘serve’ people and farmers of the country.

Agriculture malls, cold storage facilities, easy loans, climate-change-resistant seeds and genetically engineered livestock will be made available to farmers as part of the initiative.

Pakistan eschews bloc politics, wants balanced ties with all friendly countries, says COAS Asim
