The PKR gained 24 paise against the dollar in the interbank market on Tuesday. The local currency closed at Rs220.65, an appreciation of 0.11 per cent from monday’s close of Rs220.89, according to the State Bank of Pakistan. A day earlier, the PKR gained Rs1.58, reversing losses from the previous week.
Stocks recovered for the second consecutive session on Tuesday, on the expectations of “positive” developments during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China, among other factors.
The benchmark KSE-100 index gained 544.03 points, or 1.32 per cent, to close at 41,808.69 points.
