Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has stated that beauty and cleanli-ness of provincial capital will not be compromised at any cost as it is the responsibility of the government to provide a clean and healthy environment for its public. On Sunday he paid a surprise visit to various areas of the provincial capital where he reviewed the traffic and sanitation situation.
The Chief Minister visited Ring Road, University Road, Hayatabad and Peshawar City. He expressed his displeasure over the poor sanitation situation in these areas and directed the concerned departments to improve the overall sanitation and cleanliness within a week.
The Chief Minister said that the beauty and cleanliness of the provincial capital will not be compromised at any cost as it is the responsibility of the government to provide a clean and healthy environment for its public. He intimated the concerned departments to fulfill their responsibilities in this regard; failure to which legal action will be taken against the concerned officers.
The Chief Minister also expressed displeasure over the poor traffic situation and the lack of traffic officials in these areas and directed the concerned authorities to deploy the required traffic staff immediately and devise a comprehensive plan to ensure smooth flow of vehicles across the province, especially in Peshawar, so as to avoid undue rush and wastage of time.
On the other hand Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan strongly condemned the militants’ attack on a check post in D.I. Khan and expressed his heartfelt sorrow over the martyrdom of a police constable and an employee of Wildlife Department in the incident. In a statement issued by the CM Secretariat here, Mahmood Khan took notice of the incident and sought a report from the KP Inspector General of Police (IGP). The CM KP said the elements involved in this inhuman act would be arrested at all costs, and that the sacrifice of the martyrs would not go in vain.
