Accustomed to seeing ‘invisibly visible’ things in the sky, particularly along the Line of Control or Line of Actual Control, Indian paramilitary Border Security Forces (BSF fired on an unidentified “object with a blinking light” in the Kanachak area of Jammu district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the BSF spokesman in a statement in Jammu said, “Troops, yesterday, fired on an unidentified flying object with a blinking light at 2135 hours in the Kanachak area as it tried to cross International Border (IB)”, adding, “The object was not observed by troops thereafter, search of the area is underway.”
Interestingly, Indian army has a history of ‘seeing’ unidentified objects in the sky along Pakistan-India border and India-China border.
In one such incident in the recent past years, the army, as per a BBC report, spent six months watching “Chinese spy drones” violating its air space, with India frequently accusing its neighbour of making incursions onto its territory.—KMS
