Protests were held at various places across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the anti-people policies of Narendra Modi led Indian government.

According to Kashmir Media Service, dozens of employees of the Centaur Lake View Hotel in Srinagar staged a protest at Press Enclave in the city demanding that the occupation authorities to restore the sacked employees.

Pertinently, the IIOJK administration in June, this year, took possession of Centaur Lake View Hotel in Srinagar, which was leased out for 99 years, and sealed the building on alleged violation of lease terms. The move rendered around 160 employees jobless.

Meanwhile, scores of aspirants for the Financial Accounts Assistant (FAA) post continued their protest for the 21st consecutive day at Press Colony in Srinagar on Tuesday. The aspirants were demanding release of their selection list. The FAA aspirants have been protesting, saying that the occupation authorities are mulling to scrap the merit list. They said that in March this year, they appeared in exams and were declared meritorious, but the authorities were mulling scrapping the entire process.

Holding placards while raising slogans in favour of their demands, the protesters said, “We have been here for around three weeks but still the government is not paying heed to our demands. This is a matter of our livelihood and we won’t budge until the selection list is released.” Pertinently, IIOJK Services Selection Board advertised over 900 posts of FAA in the territory.—KMS
