National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf has summoned members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to confirm their resignations.
It may be recalled that members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Assembly had announced their resignation on the floor of the National Assembly after the success of the no-confidence motion against former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi during in his speech before the election of PM said, “We resign from this House and demand that new elections be held.” According to the National Assembly spokesperson, the Speaker has summoned the members of PTI for which letters have been issued to them.
According to the spokesperson, the Speaker has summoned the PTI members on June 6 for verification and the number of PTI members who have resigned is 131.
