Senior Hurriyet leader passes away in Sopore

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior Hurriyet leader Engineer Farooq Ahmad Khan passed away in Sopore. Engineer Farooq died of cardiac arrest in Sopore town, today.

The Bar Gen Secretary, GN Shaheen, senior Hurriyat leader Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Muslim League acting Chairman Abdul Ahmad Parra, Muslim Conference Chairman Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement Chairman Moulvi Bashir Ahmad, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Jammu and Kashmir Na-tional Front, Jammu Kashmir political Resistance movement General Secretary Dr Musaib, Jammu and Kashmir Young Mens League, Jammu and Kashmir Students and Youth Forum and rights activist Muhammad Ahsan Untoo paid tributes to him and said that Engineer Farooq was a great person with a mission and noble soul who throughout his life struggled for freedom of his nation. He spent more than 15 years in Tihar jail, Delhi.

They prayed for eternal peace for Engineer Farooq Ahmad Khan and conveyed their condo-lences to deceased family and well wishers.

Recalling his courageous struggle, they said Engineer Farooq had struggled all his life for right to self-determination.

JKPL Chairman Mukhtar Ahmed Waza was put under detention early in the morning when he tried to go to participate in the funeral of the late leader.

Engineer Farooq Ahmed Khan was a resident of Janglat Mundi in Islamabad district, a member of Democratic Freedom Party and was doing business in Sopore.—KMS
