Visits local hospital to enquire after health of PML-Q Chief Ch Shujaat Hussain
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday declared that development across the province, especially in the backward areas is the core agenda of the PTI government and annual development programme has been devised keeping in view composite development in Punjab.
Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was chairing 68th meeting of the cabinet committee on finance and development here on Friday. The meeting approved to upgrade police prison vans with a supplementary grant of Rs71 million.
The chief secretary, ACS, chairman P&D, secretary finance, secretary primary and secondary health and others attended the meeting.
The meeting approved Rs30.80 million grant-in-aid for sports associations along with approval of revised PC-1 for remodelling of Ammar Chowk on Airport Road in Rawalpindi.
The inclusion of a drainage scheme valuing Rs30 million of a suburban village of Sargodha in ADP 2021-22 was approved.
The meeting accorded approval to include a dual carriageway scheme from Syedwala Chowk Bosan Road to Head Muhammadwala in Multan in ADP 2021-22 and approved Rs1,184 million for it. Provision of bulldozers for repair and maintenance of roads in Barthi area of Koh-e-Suleman was also approved.
Meanwhile, the upgradation of BHU Kuntraila to RHC in Gujar Khan tehsil along with its inclusion in ADP 2021-22 and approval of a supplementary grant of Rs. 120 million was recommended by the participants.
It also approved the release of funds for newly constructed boys primary schools in Basti Dangu union council Barthi and Basti Khayaniwhet union council Barthi in tehsil Koh-e-Suleman.
It was further decided to constitute a ministerial committee to finalize MoU with the Balochistan government for establishing a health facility in the Rakhni area of Balochistan by the Punjab government.
The CM directed to expedite work to timely complete public welfare schemes and made it clear that every effort would be made to serve the masses.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar directed to take effective steps to overcome smog in the province and made it clear that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
The CM stressed that anti-smog measures should be result-oriented and directed to continue indiscriminate crackdown against factories and smog emitting vehicles in the province.
Similarly, action be initiated against factories involved in burning tyres; such units should be sealed along with the imposition of fines, he continued.
The water be sprinkled in the city daily and steps be taken immediately for the procurement of electric buses, he said.
Provincial EPD Minister Muhammad Rizwan, Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik, SACM Hasaan Khawar, chief secretary, SMBR, administrative secretaries, commissioner Lahore and others attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said children are a bright future of the country and the purpose of celebrating International Children’s Day is to sensitise the general public to the importance of the provision of education, healthcare, recreation and a conducive atmosphere to the children so that they could emerge as the leaders of tomorrow.
In his message, the CM reiterated that the government is committed to providing the best future to the children adding that different segments of the society should lend a helping hand to develop a child-friendly society in the country.
The government is working hard to provide a safe and secure atmosphere to the children for their balanced growth and everyone should reiterate the commitment that society will also play its role to provide the best facilities to the children for balanced growth, he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited Doctors Hospital to enquire after the health of Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Ch Shujaat Hussain.
The chief minister also met with Ch Shafey Hussain and MNA Ch Salik Hussain, sons of Ch Shujaat Hussain and enquired from them about his well-being. Usman Buzdar also prayed for early recovery of Ch Shujaat Hussain and expressed well wishes for him.
He prayed that may Allah Almighty grant Ch Shujaat Hussain complete health. He termed Shujaat Hussain a senior politician of Pakistan who has always promoted the politics of tolerance and modesty in Pakistan.
Principal Secretary to CM Maulana Mufti Ahmed, Sheikh Umer and Atif Sharif were also present on the occasion.
